We offer 3 options for surrender/re-homing your pet (see details below). Due to limited space and foster availability at this time, we are selectively taking owner surrender dogs (option #1).
Currently we will only consider owner surrenders of purebred Shepherds (German, Belgian, Malinois, Anatolian's etc.), Siberian Husky's and Malamutes. No dog will be accepted until we have evaluated him/her in person - so please DO NOT wait until the last minute to try to place your dog !!
Extra large or senior dogs really, really do best if they are kept by their current owner while we search for a new home. If you sincerely care about the well-being of your pet we strongly encourage you to consider re-homing option #2 or 3 below !!!!
There is no charge to surrender a pet, but we do require all surrendered dogs to be spayed/neutered, current on core vaccinations and Heartworm preventative. We will consider unaltered/unvaccinated dogs with a cash donation to help defray our expenses for spay/neuter surgery and making them current on vaccinations.
Please note that once you have surrendered your dog to us it WILL NOT be returned to you or your friends/relatives under ANY circumstances !!
In general we do not accept bite or aggressive (to people or other dogs) pets, but do evaluate each case on an individual basis. For example, most Sib's are not cat or small dog friendly, and we don't hold that against them. Please contact us to discuss the details of your dog's history if it has bite(s) on record.
Please call or email us to discuss which option is the best fit for you and your pet and how involved you wish to be in his/her placement into a new home.
